“ Joseph Payne is a British harpsichordist, born in 1941 in China of missionary parents.He has concertised widely on the harpsichord and organ, and made many recordings on major labels, primarily Naxos. Among his more notable records is the premier recording of the Bach Neumeister chorale-preludes. In 1973, Payne performed for the Peabody Mason Concert series in Boston.
