The Real McKenzies is a North American Celtic punk band founded in 1992 and based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In addition to writing and performing original music, Real McKenzies perform traditional Scottish songs, giving them a new punk-influenced sound. They have shared stages with many other bands including Rancid, DragStrip Riot, NOFX, Flogging Molly, Xcrosscheckx, the The Misfits, Metallica, The Rookers, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Shane MacGowan. They were contracted by InBev to promote the Kokanee beer brand in a 1990s television marketing campaign. Their music was recently used in the 2008 British-Canadian film Stone of Destiny.. They released their latest album, entitled Westwinds, on the March 27, 2012 with Fat Wreck Chords.
